Shreyas Gopal

Ramaswamy Shreyas Gopal, born on 4 September 1993, is an Indian cricketer who represents Kerala in domestic cricket. An all-rounder, he bats right-handed and bowls leg break. Gopal showcased his talent early by playing three ODIs for the India Under-19 cricket team in 2011. Moreover, he demonstrated leadership skills by captaining Karnataka at various age levels, including Under-13, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-19.

In his domestic career, Gopal made his debut for Karnataka in 2013. On 12 February 2014, he made history by picking the first hat-trick in Irani Cup history against Rest of India, contributing to Karnataka's victory.

His journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) began when he was bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2014 IPL auction, where he spent four seasons. Subsequently, in the 2018 IPL auction, he was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals. One of his memorable moments in the IPL came on 30 April 2019 when he claimed a hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore, dismissing Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Marcus Stoinis. This feat occurred in the shortest IPL game ever.

In the 2022 IPL auction, Gopal was picked up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad. More recently, he was once again bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2024 IPL auction, highlighting his continued value in the league.
