Aiden Markram

Aiden Kyle Markram, born on October 4, 1994, is a South African cricketer with a remarkable career both internationally and in franchise cricket.

Markram's leadership skills were evident early in his career when he captained the South African under-19 cricket team to victory in the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. His talent and potential were recognized, leading to his appointment as the current captain of the South Africa national cricket team in Twenty20 International cricket.

In the 2018 South African Cricket Annual, Markram's prowess was acknowledged as he was named one of the five Cricketers of the Year. Former captain Graeme Smith endorsed Markram as a future captain of the South African team.

Markram made his international debut for South Africa in September 2017, marking the beginning of a promising career on the global stage.

In franchise cricket, Markram has showcased his skills extensively. He made his first-class debut for Northerns cricket team in October 2014 and has been a valuable asset in various T20 tournaments. In February 2022, Markram was acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament. Following his success as captain of Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 championship, Markram was appointed as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2023 IPL season, further solidifying his leadership credentials in franchise cricket.
