Anukul Roy

Anukul Sudhakar Roy, born on 30 November 1998, is an Indian cricketer known for his prowess in both domestic and youth cricket. Hailing from Bhirha, Rosera in Bihar, Roy has emerged as a promising talent, representing Jharkhand in domestic competitions and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His journey to prominence began when he was named in India's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he excelled as the joint highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

Roy's cricketing journey continued to flourish as he made his List A debut for Jharkhand in the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, showcasing his skills on the professional stage. Subsequently, he marked his first-class debut for Jharkhand in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, where he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for his team, underscoring his potential as a valuable asset in the bowling department.

His versatility was further evident as he made his Twenty20 debut for Jharkhand in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, demonstrating adaptability across formats. Roy's consistent performances earned him recognition, leading to his selection in India B's squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy.

In February 2022, Roy's talent was acknowledged by the Kolkata Knight Riders, who acquired him in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament. He made his debut for the franchise against RR on 2 May 2022, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his IPL journey.
