Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh, born on 5 February 1999 in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, hails from a Punjabi Sikh family. He started his cricket journey playing gully cricket in Chandigarh before joining Jaswant Rai's cricket academy in 2015. Excelling in junior cricket, he was part of India's under-19 team that clinched the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Arshdeep's domestic career saw him representing Punjab in various tournaments, including the CK Nayudu Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His standout performance came in a match against Rajasthan under-23s, where he claimed eight wickets, including a hat-trick, in the second innings. He made his List A debut for Punjab in 2018 and his first-class debut in 2019.

His talent caught the eye of IPL scouts, leading to his selection by Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the 2019 IPL auction. Arshdeep proved his mettle by finishing as the team's second-highest wicket-taker in his debut season, earning recognition as a future star player.

Internationally, Arshdeep made his T20I debut for India in July 2022 against England, where he made an immediate impact by bowling a rare maiden over on debut. He continued to shine, taking seven wickets in five T20I matches against West Indies.

Arshdeep's impressive performances earned him a spot in India's squad for the 2022 Asia Cup and the ICC T20 World Cup, where he emerged as India's leading wicket-taker with 10 scalps. In November 2022, he made his ODI debut against New Zealand, marking another milestone in his international career.

In March 2023, Arshdeep signed to play up to five County Championship matches for Kent County Cricket Club during the 2023 English cricket season, further expanding his cricketing horizons. With his left-arm medium-fast bowling skills and ability to deliver crucial breakthroughs, Arshdeep continues to be a valuable asset for both Punjab and the Indian national cricket team.
