Since 2012 until his retirement in 2022, Bhuvneshwar has been a prominent figure in Indian cricket, showcasing his talents with both the new ball and at the death overs. He continues to contribute to the cricketing world as a vital member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is celebrated for his ability to swing the ball both ways with precision, with his inswingers proving particularly lethal. Over the years, he has evolved from an opening swing bowler to a versatile cricketer, mastering the art of reverse swing, slower deliveries, and yorkers, making him a formidable force in all formats of the game.

One of Bhuvneshwar's notable achievements came in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, where he played a pivotal role in India's triumph. He etched his name in IPL history by becoming the first bowler to win the prestigious Purple Cap in two consecutive seasons.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar's international debut in December 2012 against Pakistan was nothing short of spectacular, as he made an immediate impact with three wickets in a Twenty20 International, including one in his very first over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's prowess extends across all formats of the game, as he holds the distinction of being the first Indian bowler to claim a five-wicket haul in Test cricket, ODIs, and T20Is. He stands alone as the only bowler whose first wicket in all three formats of the game was bowled.

Outside of international cricket, Bhuvneshwar has left an indelible mark in domestic cricket, representing Uttar Pradesh with distinction. His standout performances earned him recognition in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he initially played for Royal Challengers Bangalore before joining Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he emerged as a key player, winning the coveted Purple Cap in 2016. He was later named the vice-captain of the team, further highlighting his leadership qualities.

In the 2022 IPL mega-auction, Bhuvneshwar Kumar's talents were once again acknowledged as Sunrisers Hyderabad secured his services for ₹4.20 crores, underscoring his enduring value and prowess in the shortest format of the game.
