Devdutt Padikkal, born on 7 July 2000, is a rising star in Indian cricket, known for his exceptional talent and skill on the field.Hailing from Edappal, Kerala, Padikkal is currently a key player for Karnataka in domestic cricket and represents the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Padikkal made his international debut in a T20I match against Sri Lanka in 2021, marking the beginning of what promises to be a stellar career in the Indian cricket team. His journey in cricket began when his family relocated to Bangalore in 2011, where he started training at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket.Padikkal's talent quickly became evident as he represented Karnataka in various age categories, including under-16 and under-19 competitions. His breakthrough moment came when he was selected by Bellary Tuskers in the Karnataka Premier League in 2017.

Padikkal's consistent performances earned him a spot in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the 2019 IPL season, where he made history by becoming the first player to score three fifties in his first four matches. In domestic cricket, he showcased his prowess by emerging as the leading run-scorer in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy, amassing an impressive 609 runs. Padikkal continued to impress in the IPL, winning the Emerging Player Award in the 2020 season and scoring his maiden IPL century in 2021.

His success in the IPL caught the attention of the national selectors, leading to his inclusion in the Indian team for the T20I series against Sri Lanka in 2021. In the 2022 IPL auction, Padikkal was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals before being traded to the Lucknow Super Giants in November 2023. With his consistent performances and hunger for success, Devdutt Padikkal is poised to be a pivotal figure in Indian cricket for years to come.
