Gurnoor Brar

Gurnoor Singh Brar, born on May 25, 2000, in Muktsar, Punjab, is a towering 6'5" right-arm fast bowler and left-handed batsman who has been making waves in Indian domestic cricket. He began his professional journey as a net bowler for Mumbai Indians in 2019 before making his List A debut for Punjab in December 2021 against Goa. His first-class debut came shortly after in December 2022 against Railways. Brar's breakthrough performance was a resilient 64-run innings against Jammu and Kashmir in January 2023, stabilizing Punjab's innings and contributing to a crucial 100-run partnership with Siddharth Kaul, leading to a four-wicket victory.

In the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy season, Brar emerged as Punjab's leading wicket-taker, claiming 33 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 25.66 and an economy rate of 3.43. His standout performance was a five-wicket haul (5/14) against Bihar, showcasing his ability to exploit seam-friendly conditions effectively. Additionally, in the 2024 Sher-E-Punjab T20 League, he topped the wicket-taking charts with 22 wickets in 11 matches, underlining his prowess in the shorter format.

Brar's IPL journey began in 2023 when he was signed by Punjab Kings as a replacement for Raj Bawa at a base price of INR 20 Lakhs. He made his debut against Lucknow Super Giants, bowling three overs for 42 runs without taking a wicket. Recognizing his potential, Gujarat Titans acquired him for INR 1.3 Crores in the 2025 IPL auction. While his IPL exposure has been limited, his domestic performances suggest a promising future, and fans eagerly await his impact in the upcoming seasons.
