Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan, born on 18 July 1998 in Patna, Bihar, is a prominent figure in Indian cricket. He represents the Indian national cricket team as a wicket-keeper batsman and has made significant contributions both domestically and internationally. Kishan's cricketing journey began in his early years, and he showcased his leadership skills by captaining India's squad in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Despite facing registration issues between the Bihar Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Kishan emerged as a standout talent, eventually representing Jharkhand in domestic cricket. His exceptional performances garnered attention, notably scoring 273 runs against Delhi in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, setting a new record for Jharkhand. Kishan's prowess in domestic cricket continued to flourish, evident in his performances in the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His consistency and ability to score big runs earned him recognition at the national level. In December 2022, he etched his name in cricketing history by scoring 210 runs in 131 balls against Bangladesh, becoming the youngest cricketer to score an ODI double century and the first to convert a maiden ODI century into a double century.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kishan has been a vital asset for the Mumbai Indians franchise. His impressive batting displays, including being the highest run-scorer for Mumbai in the 2020 season, have solidified his place as a key player in the team. Ahead of the 2022 IPL, Kishan made headlines by being bought for a staggering ₹15.25 crore by Mumbai Indians, reaffirming his status as one of the most valuable Indian players in the tournament.
