Jayant Yadav, born on January 22, 1990, is a talented Indian cricketer hailing from Delhi. He has made significant contributions to the sport, representing Haryana and Middlesex in domestic cricket. Known for his off-spin bowling prowess and right-handed batting, Yadav made his mark on the international stage when he debuted for India in October 2016.

Yadav's journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) began when he was acquired by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) for INR 10 Lakhs during the 2014 IPL auction. He continued to showcase his skills for the team until 2018 when he was transferred to Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2019 IPL season. His stint in the IPL provided him with valuable experience and exposure to top-level cricket.

In August 2019, Yadav was selected in the India Green team's squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy, further solidifying his presence in the domestic cricket circuit. Despite being part of the Delhi Capitals squad in the IPL 2018, he did not feature in any matches. However, his consistent performances caught the attention of franchises, leading to his inclusion in the Gujarat Titans squad for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.

Yadav's international career has seen notable achievements, including his selection in India's Test squad for their series against New Zealand in September 2016. He made his presence felt in the Test arena, showcasing his bowling skills and contributing with the bat. Notably, Yadav played a crucial role against New Zealand at Vizag, where he took his maiden ODI wicket and made his Test debut in the same series.

One of Yadav's standout performances came during his Test debut against England at the same venue, where he displayed his all-round abilities by taking wickets and scoring runs. His impressive batting performance, including a century and a half-century in his first three Tests, highlighted his potential as a valuable asset for the Indian team. Yadav's captaincy skills were also recognized when he was named captain of India's team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, further solidifying his status as a prominent figure in Indian cricket.
