Lhuan-dre Pretorius is a 19-year-old South African batting sensation who has taken the cricketing world by storm, currently representing the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 season. After initially joining RR as a replacement for the injured Nitish Rana in 2025 for ₹30 lakh, the franchise recognized his generational talent and secured him at the 2026 auction to bolster their top order. A left-handed wicketkeeper-batter with a 'wristy' elegance that has drawn comparisons to Quinton de Kock, Pretorius enters the 2026 season as a record-breaker. In June 2025, he became the youngest South African to score a Test century on debut, smashing a brilliant 153 against Zimbabwe to eclipse a 60-year-old record held by Graeme Pollock.

Pretorius' rise in the T20 format has been equally meteoric. He was the backbone of South Africa's 2024 Under-19 World Cup campaign and has since become a fixture in the SA20 for the Paarl Royals. In the 2025-26 SA20 season, he displayed his explosive range with a near-century, scoring 98 off 65 balls* against MI Cape Town, helping his side reach the playoffs. His ability to dominate both pace and spin is reflected in his recent international form, which includes a maiden ODI half-century against Pakistan in late 2025. With four List A hundreds in just 20 games and a career T20 strike rate touching 140, Pretorius provides Rajasthan with a dynamic overseas opening option or a flexible middle-order anchor.
