Manish Krishnanand Pandey, born on 10 September 1989, is a prominent Indian cricketer known for his contributions in domestic and international cricket. Representing Karnataka in domestic cricket and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Pandey has established himself as a reliable right-handed middle-order batsman. He began his IPL journey with the Mumbai Indians in 2008 and later played for Royal Challengers Bangalore before joining Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014. Notably, Pandey became the first Indian player to score a century in the IPL during the 2009 season while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Pandey's early life saw him born in Nainital, Uttarakhand, before relocating to Bangalore with his family at the age of 15. His father's association with the Indian Army influenced Pandey's upbringing, instilling discipline and determination in him from a young age. He pursued his education at Kendriya Vidyalaya and later honed his cricketing skills at the Karnataka State Cricket Association. Interestingly, Pandey's sister, Anita Pandey, also had a cricketing career representing Karnataka.

His cricketing journey gained momentum when he was part of the victorious Indian team in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup held in Malaysia. Subsequently, he made his mark in the IPL, showcasing his batting prowess and contributing valuable performances for his respective teams. Pandey's notable innings include a match-winning knock of 94 in the IPL 2014 final for Kolkata Knight Riders against Kings XI Punjab, earning him the Man of the Match award.

Over the years, Pandey has been a consistent performer in the IPL, attracting attention with his batting skills and ability to anchor the innings. He has represented various IPL franchises, including Pune Warriors India and Sunrisers Hyderabad, before being acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 IPL Auction. In the subsequent auctions, he was bought by the Delhi Capitals in 2023 and rejoined Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2024 Indian Premier League.
