Nehal Wadhera, born on 4 September 2000 in Ludhiana, Punjab, is an Indian cricketer known for his left-handed batting prowess and occasional legbreak bowling. He has represented the Punjab cricket team in domestic cricket and previously played for the India under-19 cricket team.

Wadhera's cricket journey began at the age of nine, focusing initially on batting and dedicating long hours to enhance his fitness. Coached by Charanjit Bhangu in his childhood, he honed his skills further under the guidance of Harjinder Singh, who noted similarities between Wadhera's batting style and that of Yuvraj Singh.

His early career saw him excel in age-group cricket, representing Punjab in the under-16 and under-19 categories in tournaments like the Vijay Merchant Trophy and Cooch Behar Trophy. He made his debut for the India under-19 team in July 2018 against Sri Lanka, impressing with a score of 82 runs. Wadhera's remarkable talent earned him recognition, becoming the third cricketer from Ludhiana to represent India at any level.

In April 2022, Wadhera made headlines by smashing 578 runs in a single innings during the semi-final of the Inter-District U-23 Cricket Championship, surpassing Brian Lara's record for the highest individual score in a four-day match. His extraordinary performance also earned him the distinction of being the fastest player to reach 200, 300, 400, and 500 runs in any level of recognized cricket.

Turning to domestic cricket, Wadhera was named in Punjab's squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in December 2020. His impressive performances caught the attention of the Mumbai Indians, who acquired him for ₹20 lakh in the Indian Premier League auction in December 2022. Wadhera's first-class debut for Punjab in January 2023 was nothing short of spectacular, as he scored a match-winning century against Gujarat and followed it up with a double hundred against Madhya Pradesh.

His IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians in April 2023 showcased his potential, with a quickfire 21 runs off 13 balls against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Wadhera continued to impress throughout the IPL season, culminating in his maiden half-century against the Chennai Super Kings. In addition to his domestic success, Wadhera made his List A debut for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in November 2023.

With his talent and determination, Nehal Wadhera's cricketing journey promises much success, both domestically and potentially on the international stage in the future.
