Rajat Manohar Patidar, born on June 1, 1993, is a prominent Indian cricketer known for his impactful performances in T20 cricket, particularly in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Patidar represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket and has been a key player for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL.

Patidar's journey in cricket began in his hometown of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He showed early promise and dedication to the sport, joining a cricket club at the age of 8 and later enrolling in a cricket academy under the guidance of his grandfather. Despite starting his career primarily as a bowler, he transitioned to focus on his batting skills after excelling at the U-15 level.

In the domestic circuit, Patidar made his mark with his first-class debut in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy, showcasing his talent as a top-order batter. He further established himself as a formidable player, notably emerging as the leading run-scorer for Madhya Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy season.

Patidar's prowess in T20 cricket earned him recognition in the IPL, where he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 auction. Although his initial stint with RCB saw limited opportunities, he made a remarkable comeback in the 2022 season. Notably, he delivered a match-winning performance in the IPL Eliminator match, scoring an unbeaten century against Lucknow Super Giants. His stellar innings made history as the first uncapped player to score a century in the IPL playoffs, showcasing his ability to thrive under pressure.

Building on his IPL success, Patidar earned a spot in the Indian ODI squad for the series against South Africa in 2023. Despite facing stiff competition, his consistent performances in domestic cricket and the IPL led to his inclusion in the national team. He made his ODI debut later that year, demonstrating his potential at the international level.

In 2024, Patidar received further recognition with his selection in India's Test squad as a replacement for Virat Kohli. He made his Test debut against England, contributing with crucial runs in both innings, thus highlighting his adaptability across formats.

Patidar's journey exemplifies his resilience, skill, and adaptability, making him a valuable asset in both domestic and international cricket. As he continues to excel on the field, fans eagerly anticipate his future contributions to the sport.
