Ravichandran Smaran is a 21-year-old left-handed batter from Mysuru, Karnataka, who has emerged as a standout performer in Indian domestic cricket. Representing Karnataka, he has showcased remarkable consistency across formats. In first-class cricket, Smaran has accumulated 516 runs in 10 innings at an average of 64.50, including two centuries, with a top score of 203 against Punjab. His List A record is equally impressive, with 433 runs in 7 innings at an average of 72.16 and a strike rate of 100.23, featuring two centuries and two fifties. In T20s, he has scored 170 runs in 6 innings at a strike rate of 170.00, with a highest score of 57.

​Smaran's cricketing journey began at the age of 7 when his parents enrolled him in the Vultures Cricket Club to channel his energy. He progressed through Karnataka's age-group teams, captaining the Under-16 side and delivering notable performances, including a 203* against Goa. He was also part of the BCCI's Under-19 training camps at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
