Romario Shepherd

Romario Shepherd, born on 26 November 1994, is a Guyanese cricketer representing Guyana in domestic matches and the West Indies in international cricket. He marked his international debut for West Indies in November 2019.

As a right-arm fast bowler, Shepherd showcased his skills early in his career. He made his List A debut for Guyana in January 2016, impressing with a stellar performance against the Leeward Islands in the 2015–16 Regional Super50. Opening the bowling attack, he claimed 3 wickets for 37 runs from 10 overs, earning the title of man of the match.

His first-class debut for Guyana took place in the 2016–17 Regional Four Day Competition on 10 March 2017. Shepherd's Twenty20 debut for Guyana Amazon Warriors occurred on 5 September 2018.

Shepherd's prowess also extends to franchise cricket. He was named in the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League and was signed by the Karachi Kings for the 2022 Pakistan Super League. In the 2022 Indian Premier League auction, he was acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

On the international front, Shepherd was included in the West Indies One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Afghanistan in October 2019. He made his ODI debut against Afghanistan on 6 November 2019. Additionally, he earned a spot in the West Indies Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Ireland in January 2020, marking his T20I debut against Ireland on 18 January 2020.

Shepherd's consistent performances earned him a place in the West Indies ODI squad for the 3-match series against England in November 2023. In the first ODI, he showcased his all-round capabilities by scoring 48 runs off 28 balls and picking up 2 wickets for 77 runs.
