Sherfane Rutherford

Sherfane Eviston Rutherford, born on 15 August 1998, is a talented cricketer from Guyana who has made significant strides in both domestic and international cricket. He made his international debut for the West Indies in December 2018 against England, marking the beginning of a promising career on the global stage.

Rutherford's journey in cricket began with his appearances for Guyana in domestic competitions. He made his first-class debut in the 2016–17 Regional Four-Day Competition and his List A debut in the 2017–18 Regional Super50 tournament. His performances caught the attention of selectors, earning him a spot in the Cricket West Indies B Team for the inaugural Global T20 Canada tournament in June 2018, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer for his team.

In the Caribbean Premier League, Rutherford showcased his talent for the Guyana Amazon Warriors, making his Twenty20 debut in August 2018. He further expanded his T20 career by joining the Khulna Titans in the Bangladesh Premier League and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League after being bought in the player auction for the 2019 season.

Rutherford's T20 journey continued with stints in various leagues around the world, including the Global T20 Canada tournament and the Bangladesh Premier League. He consistently performed well, earning him a place in the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League.

In the IPL, Rutherford's skills were recognized by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who included him in their squad for the 2021 season. He later joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2022 edition, showcasing his versatility as a T20 cricketer.

Internationally, Rutherford made his T20I debut for the West Indies against Bangladesh in December 2018. He has since been a valuable asset to the team, earning selection for various series, including the T20 series against England in December 2023. His consistent performances and dynamic style of play have solidified his position as a key player in West Indies cricket.
