Shivang Kumar

Shivang Kumar is a 23-year-old all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh who was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹30 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction. A 'masterpiece' of his father’s coaching, Shivang possesses a rare and highly sought-after skill set: he is a right-handed batter who bowls left-arm wrist-spin (chinaman). His father, Praveen Kumar—a Chief Ticket Inspector in the Railways and a former Bengal Ranji player—intentionally converted Shivang into a left-arm bowler to give him a unique edge in the competitive Indian domestic circuit.

Shivang's rise has been fueled by standout performances in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL), where he represented the Bhopal Leopards and showcased his ability to both anchor an innings and 'spin a web' around batters. In the 2025 season, he proved his T20 mettle with a high score of 91 and a healthy strike rate of 159.12, while maintaining a tidy economy of 7.40 with the ball. Following his success in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he consistently troubled top-tier domestic hitters, he was invited to trials by multiple franchises before SRH secured him.
