George Dockrell is a left-arm orthodox spinner and right-handed middle-order batter who has been a mainstay in Irish cricket since his debut in 2010. Born on July 22, 1992, in Dublin, he made an immediate impact as a teenager, notably taking four wickets against the West Indies in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20. Over time, Dockrell evolved from a specialist bowler into a dependable all-rounder. In ODIs, he has claimed over 100 wickets and contributed valuable runs, including a top score of 91*. In T20Is, he has taken 83 wickets and scored more than 1,100 runs, showcasing his versatility and importance to the team.

Dockrell's domestic career has been equally impressive. He played county cricket for Somerset from 2011 to 2015 before focusing on his international commitments. In the 2018 Inter-Provincial Cup, he was both the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker, underlining his all-round capabilities. He continued this form in the 2021 season, topping the run charts with 364 runs at an average of 91.00. In 2024, Dockrell signed a short-term white-ball contract with Lancashire, further broadening his experience in competitive cricket. His ability to adapt and contribute in multiple facets of the game makes him a valuable asset to Irish cricket.
