Stafanie Taylor

Stafanie Roxann Taylor, born on 11 June 1991 in Jamaica, is one of the most celebrated cricketers in West Indies women's cricket history. A right-handed batter and off-spin bowler, she debuted internationally in 2008 at age 17 and quickly established herself as a key player. Taylor was the first West Indian woman to be named ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2011 and the first to score 1,000 ODI runs for the West Indies. She led the West Indies to victory in the 2016 ICC Women’s World T20, earning Player of the Tournament honors, and has played over 250 matches for her country across formats.

Throughout her career, Taylor has set numerous records, including becoming the second player to score 3,000 runs in WT20Is and the only woman to have scored over 5,000 runs and taken more than 150 wickets in WODIs. Known for her elegant batting and strategic captaincy, she has captained the West Indies since 2015, fostering team unity and resilience. Taylor has also been a prominent figure in global franchise leagues such as the Women’s Big Bash League and The Hundred. Beyond cricket, she is admired for her humility, leadership, and contributions to the sport, continuing to influence West Indies cricket as she prepares for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
