Lutho Sipamla
Lutho Sipamla is a South African right-arm fast bowler known for his pace, accuracy and ability to deliver under pressure in the shortest format. Born in Port Elizabeth (now Gqeberha) in May 1998, Sipamla first gained national attention during the 2016 Under-19 World Cup cycle before progressing through the domestic ranks with Eastern Province and later the Lions. His impressive performances in South Africa’s domestic competitions quickly established him as one of the country's most promising fast-bowling talents.
Sipamla enjoyed a breakthrough during the inaugural Mzansi Super League, where he emerged as one of the competition’s standout young bowlers. His ability to bowl sharp yorkers, generate bounce and maintain composure in the death overs earned him recognition and accelerated his rise to the international stage. He made his T20I debut for South Africa in 2019, followed by ODI and Test appearances, showcasing his versatility across formats.
In franchise cricket, Sipamla has represented teams such as the Lions, Joburg Super Kings and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, continuing to build a reputation as a dependable pace option. While injuries and competition for places have occasionally interrupted his progress, his raw pace, attacking mindset and ability to strike at crucial moments keep him firmly in South Africa’s fast-bowling conversation. At his best, Sipamla combines aggression with control, making him a valuable asset in both domestic and international cricket.
