Benjamin Vincent Sears, born on February 11, 1998, in Lower Hutt, New Zealand, is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who plays for Wellington and the New Zealand national team. His father, Michael Sears, also played cricket for Wellington in the 1990s. Ben Sears made his List A debut in October 2018, followed by his first-class and T20 debuts later that year. He was part of New Zealand's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket.

Sears made his international debut in September 2021 during a T20I against Bangladesh. In December 2023, he delivered a match-winning performance in a T20I against Bangladesh, taking 2 wickets for 28 runs. He earned his Test debut in March 2024 against Australia, where he impressed with figures of 5 wickets across two innings, including dismissing Steve Smith. He was later named as a reserve for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

In October 2024, Sears was selected for New Zealand's Test series against India but was ruled out due to a knee injury. In March 2025, he joined Yorkshire County Cricket Club as an overseas player for the County Championship season. Known for his pace and wicket-taking ability, Sears continues to be a promising talent for New Zealand cricket.
