Ish Sodhi

Ish Sodhi is a New Zealand cricketer born on October 31, 1992, in Ludhiana, India. He moved to New Zealand with his family at the age of four and grew up in Papatoetoe, New Zealand. Sodhi began his cricketing career in the 2012-13 season, playing for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield. He impressed selectors with his performances and was subsequently picked for the national Test side in 2013.

Sodhi made his Test debut against Bangladesh on October 9, 2013, and has since played in several international matches for New Zealand. He has also represented the country in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). In the 2016 World T20, Sodhi was part of the New Zealand squad and has also been selected for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Domestically, Sodhi has played for various teams, including Canterbury, Northern Districts, Nottinghamshire, Rajasthan Royals, and Worcestershire. He has been a consistent performer for his teams, taking numerous wickets and scoring runs. In the 2017-18 Big Bash League, Sodhi played for the Adelaide Strikers and took 9 wickets in three matches. He has also played in the Caribbean Premier League and the Hundred.

Sodhi has been recognized for his achievements, reaching the number one ranking for T20I bowlers in January 2018. He has also taken five-wicket hauls in Test cricket and has scored centuries in both Tests and ODIs. Sodhi continues to be an important member of the New Zealand national team, known for his leg spin bowling and right-handed batting.
