Jos Buttler

Joseph Charles Buttler MBE, commonly known as Jos Buttler, is a prominent English international cricketer and former captain of the national team. Born on September 8, 1990, Buttler is renowned for his innovative and aggressive right-handed batting style combined with his skills as a wicket-keeper. He plays domestically for Lancashire and has featured in various T20 leagues worldwide. Buttler was a key member of the England squad that won the 2019 ODI World Cup, famously effecting the decisive run-out in the Super Over of the final. In June 2022, he was appointed captain of England’s limited-overs teams and led England to victory in the 2022 T20 World Cup, where he was also the tournament’s top scorer for England.

Buttler holds several records and accolades, including being England’s most-capped T20I player and highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals. Alongside Adil Rashid, he set the world record for the highest seventh-wicket partnership in ODIs with 177 runs against New Zealand in 2015. He is one of only five English players to score a T20I century and holds England’s wicket-keeping records for most dismissals in both ODI and T20I formats. Widely regarded as England’s greatest white-ball player, Buttler’s impact on limited-overs cricket has been profound and enduring.
