George Linde

George Linde is a left-arm orthodox spinner and left-handed batsman born on December 4, 1991, in Cape Town, South Africa. Making his first-class debut for Western Province at age 21, he quickly became known for his effective spin bowling and handy lower-order batting. Linde has achieved over 300 wickets in domestic cricket across formats, including a notable 10-wicket haul in a first-class match, highlighting his prowess as a key bowling all-rounder. His domestic achievements include vital contributions with the bat, having scored multiple half-centuries that underline his capability as a dependable lower-order batsman. He is recognized for his versatility and experience in different formats whether in first-class, List A, or T20 cricket leagues.​

Linde debuted for South Africa internationally in February 2019 in a T20I against Pakistan and made his ODI debut in September 2021 versus Sri Lanka. In early 2021, he achieved his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket during South Africa's series against Pakistan, reinforcing his value in the longer format. Praised for his intelligent bowling and all-round abilities, Linde has been an important squad member in a transitional phase for South African cricket. He was also named among the reserves for South Africa’s squad in the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, showcasing his ongoing presence and potential in international cricket. Linde further expanded his experience by playing county cricket with Kent, adding to his skillset in varied conditions.
