Jayden Lennox
Jayden Lennox is an accurate and crafty slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has become a prominent figure for the Central Districts (Central Stags) through his persistence and tactical intelligence. Born on December 14, 1994, in Napier, Lennox took a non-traditional route to the professional game, working as a greenskeeper and laboratory technician before making his domestic debut at 25. He quickly established himself as a white-ball specialist, finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the 2022/23 Super Smash and recently captaining the Stags’ T20 side. His ability to stifle batters with subtle changes in flight and pace, combined with a 'team-first' mentality, earned him a reputation as one of the most reliable finger spinners in New Zealand’s domestic circuit.
The 2025/26 season marked a major milestone in Lennox’s career, as he earned his maiden international call-up for the Black Caps' tour of India in January 2026. Making his ODI debut in Rajkot, he showcased his composure against world-class opposition, finishing his debut series with encouraging figures of 3-84 across two matches. His rise has continued into March 2026, where he was named in the T20I squad to face South Africa, with a potential debut slated for the latter half of the series in Wellington and Christchurch. Now 31, Lennox is viewed as a vital mature-age addition to the national setup, providing the Black Caps with a high-quality spin option as they look to build depth following their runner-up finish in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
