Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell, born on July 23, 1993, in Kingston, Jamaica, is a hard-hitting middle-order batsman and occasional medium-pace bowler for the West Indies cricket team. Emerging from humble beginnings, Powell overcame early life challenges to make his mark in West Indies cricket, making his ODI debut in 2016 and T20I debut in 2017. Known for his powerful six-hitting ability and aggressive batting style, Powell became a crucial finisher in limited-overs formats. He scored his maiden T20I century in January 2022 against England and was appointed West Indies T20 captain in 2023, leading the team to several bilateral series victories. Powell’s leadership and explosive batting have made him a key figure in West Indies cricket, especially in the shorter formats where he frequently changes the momentum of the game.​

Apart from his international career, Powell has also been a sought-after player in franchise cricket, playing for teams such as the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League and participating in the Indian Premier League with Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. In the IPL 2025 season, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals, adding strength to their middle order.
