
Nahida Akter
Nahida Akter, born on March 2, 2000, is a leading Bangladeshi cricketer known for her slow left-arm orthodox bowling and right-handed batting. She made her international debut for Bangladesh in September 2015 and quickly established herself as a pivotal player in the national women's cricket team. Nahida was part of Bangladesh's historic squad that won the 2018 Women's Asia Cup, the country's first major international women's cricket title. She continued to impress in various ICC tournaments, including the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 and the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier, where she was the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh.
Throughout her career, Nahida has achieved several notable milestones, such as taking her first five-wicket haul in WODI cricket in November 2021 and her first five-wicket haul in WT20Is in January 2022. She has played crucial roles in Bangladesh's victories at the South Asian Games (gold in 2019) and the Asian Games (bronze in 2022). In 2023, Nahida became the first Bangladeshi female cricketer to win the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award. She reached her 100th wicket in T20Is during the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. As of 2025, she serves as the vice-captain of the Bangladesh women's cricket team, continuing to be a key figure in their campaign at major tournaments including the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
