Left Arm Medium Fast

Rachel Elizabeth Slater is a highly talented, impactful left-arm medium bowler who has become a focal point of the Scotland women’s national cricket team's bowling attack. Born on November 20, 2001, in Glens Falls, New York, as a triplet, she later relocated to Leeds, qualifying to represent Scotland through her mother's roots in Giffnock. Slater rose rapidly through the English regional development systems, making her senior county debut for Yorkshire in 2019 and eventually earning a highly sought-after professional contract with the Northern Diamonds. Operating primarily as a discipline-focused bowler who swings the ball back into right-handed batters, she quickly caught the attention of international selectors with her sharp control and ability to provide crucial breakthroughs. She made her formal senior international debut for Scotland in January 2022 during the Commonwealth Games Qualifier against Sri Lanka in Malaysia, instantly solidifying her place in the national blueprint.

On the global stage, Slater has continually demonstrated a remarkable big-match temperament, anchoring Scotland through historic competitive milestones in both white-ball formats. She achieved her formal One Day International (ODI) cap against the United States in April 2024, and later that year, she played a vital role in Scotland's historic, first-ever campaign at the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE. Her immense wicket-taking capability was famously highlighted by a career-best T20I haul of 5 for 17 against Uganda, alongside a brilliant ODI top score of 61 against Bangladesh during the 2025 World Cup Qualifiers. Balancing her international duties with elite domestic stints for Yorkshire, the Northern Superchargers, and Oval Invincibles, she remains an exceptionally robust asset. As a consistent performer in recent elite assignments like the 2026 Global Qualifiers, Slater continues to spearhead the Scottish attack, elevating the team's presence in international cricket.
