Akeal Hosein

Akeal Hosein is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays for the West Indies, known for his left-arm orthodox spin and handy lower-order batting. Born in Port of Spain in 1993, he emerged from the West Indies Under-19 squad and made his first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago in 2012–13. Hosein’s domestic career includes match-winning bowling spells and a maiden first-class hundred, with strong performances in the Caribbean Premier League and the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Hosein’s international career began in January 2021 with an impressive ODI debut against Bangladesh, quickly making himself a regular in the West Indies white-ball teams. He’s featured in global tournaments like the T20 World Cup and delivered key performances, including a five-wicket haul against Uganda in 2024. His reliable all-round skills have made him a valuable asset for both the West Indies and various franchise teams.
