Alzarri Joseph

Alzarri Shaheim Joseph, born 20 November 1996 in Antigua, is a right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman who represents the West Indies in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. He plays domestically for Leeward Islands and in franchise leagues such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Joseph was a key member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, finishing as his team’s leading wicket-taker.

He made his Test debut in August 2016 and ODI debut in October 2016. Known for his pace and aggression, Joseph has recorded multiple five-wicket hauls across formats and scored his maiden Test fifty in December 2020. Despite injury setbacks early in his career, he has been recognized in ICC and Cricinfo teams of the year and earned praise for his resilience, including playing through personal tragedy in 2019.

Joseph made his T20I debut in July 2022 and has been named in West Indies squads for major tournaments, including the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In March 2023, he took his maiden T20I five-wicket haul. In November 2024, Joseph received a two-match ban following disciplinary issues during a T20I against England but publicly apologized, acknowledging his passion got the better of him. He remains a vital fast-bowling asset for West Indies across formats.
