Keemo Paul is a dynamic Guyanese all-rounder whose career has been characterized by his genuine pace, useful lower-order batting, and high-energy displays in both domestic and international cricket. Born on February 21, 1998, in Guyana, he first rose to prominence during the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where his match-winning performances helped the West Indies secure the title. Since his international debut in 2018 across all three formats, he has become a familiar face in the Caribbean cricketing landscape, representing the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL and gaining valuable experience in various global T20 leagues. His ability to hit the deck hard and provide crucial breakthroughs, combined with his clean hitting down the order, makes him a versatile tactical weapon for any captain.

In the context of the 2026 season, Paul has been called up to the West Indies ODI squad for their upcoming five-match series against New Zealand, starting July 11, 2026. He joins the team as a replacement for Shamar Springer, who withdrew following a family bereavement. Having recently been involved in the Test setup, Paul’s return to the white-ball squad is a timely boost for the West Indies as they aim to fine-tune their roster ahead of the 2027 ICC 50-over World Cup. His experience and familiarity with the conditions in Guyana—the venue for the first three matches of the series—are expected to be vital assets for the team as they look to build on their recent performances against Sri Lanka.
