Nishan Madushka

Nishan Madushka, full name Kottasinghakkarage Nishan Madushka Fernando, is a rising star in Sri Lankan cricket, born on September 10, 1999, in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, known for his solid technique and ability to play long innings. Madushka made his first-class debut for Colts Cricket Club in January 2019 and became a prolific run-scorer in Sri Lanka's domestic circuit, topping the 2022 Major League Tournament run charts with 1,229 runs including an unbeaten 300. His consistent performances earned him a place in the Sri Lanka Emerging Team and later the national Test squad.

Madushka made his Test debut on March 17, 2023, against New Zealand, and he quickly announced his arrival on the international stage by scoring a majestic double century against Ireland in April 2023, helping Sri Lanka to a series victory. He has also performed exceptionally well in domestic and A team tours, including scoring 269 runs against Kent in England, setting a record for the highest first-class score by a Sri Lankan cricketer in England. Known for his calm temperament and resilience, Nishan Madushka is seen as a key future player for Sri Lanka’s batting lineup across all formats.
