Amir Jangoo, born July 14, 1997, in St. James, Trinidad, is an emerging force in West Indies cricket known for his aggressive left-handed batting and sharp wicketkeeping skills. Rising through the domestic ranks, Jangoo impressed for Trinidad & Tobago and various Caribbean Premier League teams, eventually earning a call-up to the West Indies national side. He made his One Day International debut against Bangladesh on December 12, 2024, where he made headlines by scoring an unbeaten 104—the fastest ODI hundred on debut by a West Indies player and only the second West Indian to score a debut ODI century.

Jangoo’s journey has been marked by flair under pressure and a steady ascent through both youth and senior cricket. He is already recognized as the youngest West Indian wicketkeeper to score a fifty in ODIs and the first since Jeff Dujon to notch a hundred in his maiden Test series, underscoring his dual threat with bat and gloves. Jangoo’s infectious energy and consistency on the field continue to inspire a new wave of Caribbean cricketers, positioning him as a potential cornerstone for the future of West Indies cricket.
