AM Ghazanfar
AM Ghazanfar, also known as Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, is a talented Afghan off-spinner who has emerged as one of the country's most exciting young bowling prospects. A right-handed batter and off-break bowler, Ghazanfar progressed through Afghanistan's youth system and represented the country at Under-19 level before earning his senior international debut in 2024. His height, control and ability to generate sharp turn have helped him stand out despite his relatively young age.
Ghazanfar's bowling is built around accuracy, variation and the ability to trouble batters with changes in pace and trajectory. He has quickly become part of Afghanistan's strong spin-bowling group, competing for places alongside established names such as Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad. His performances in domestic and international cricket have earned him opportunities in Afghanistan's ODI setup, including selection for the 2026 series against India and Ireland.
Still in the early stages of his international career, Ghazanfar is regarded as a player with significant long-term potential for Afghanistan. He was named among Afghanistan's reserves for the 2026 T20 World Cup and has remained involved in the national white-ball setup, highlighting the confidence selectors have in his development. With Afghanistan continuing to produce high-quality spin bowlers, Ghazanfar's control, variations and growing experience could make him an important part of the team's bowling attack in the years ahead.
