Shian Brathwaite

Shian Brathwaite is a Barbadian right-handed opening batter who has represented Barbados Pride and West Indies Under-19s and has also featured prominently in Caribbean domestic T20 cricket. A product of the Barbados cricket system, Brathwaite first gained exposure at regional level with the West Indies Under-19 side during the 2016-17 Regional Super50 before later breaking into the Barbados Pride first-class setup. Primarily a top-order batter, his game is built around providing a positive start and taking advantage of scoring opportunities when the field is up.

Brathwaite made his first-class debut for Barbados Pride in 2024, adding the longer format to his previous List A experience. His career received another boost through the West Indies Breakout League, where he represented Barbados Pelicans and produced one of the standout innings of the 2025 tournament. Opening the batting against Windward Islands Infernos, he struck an unbeaten 85 from 50 deliveries and was named Player of the Match as the Pelicans secured a one-run victory, demonstrating his ability to score quickly while batting deep into a T20 innings.

Brathwaite's performances at domestic level have continued to create opportunities for him in Caribbean cricket. He remained involved with Barbados Pride and was drafted into the Barbados Tridents squad during the 2026 Caribbean Premier League as a replacement for Kadeem Alleyne, giving him an opportunity to test his attacking top-order game at a higher level of franchise cricket. With experience across youth, first-class and emerging T20 competitions, Brathwaite is continuing to build his profile as a dynamic Barbadian batter capable of contributing across different formats.
