Alick Athanaze

Alick Athanaze, a stylish left handed top order batsman and occasional off spinner, has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in West Indies cricket. His rise began with record equalling centuries in the 2018 U19 World Cup, which prompted swift elevation through the domestic system. Possessing an elegant range of strokes, Athanaze has impressed in both red and white ball formats, debuting internationally in 2023. His 2024 CPL season with Barbados Royals yielded 179 runs in 11 matches, highlighting glimpses of his batting class in tricky conditions.

Athanaze is comfortable building an innings when wickets fall early, but can also shift gears into aggressive mode. His composure under pressure at a young age has led many to tip him as a future West Indies batting mainstay.
