Sophia Dunkley

Sophia Dunkley is an explosive right-handed top-order batter and occasional leg-break bowler who serves as a dynamic core figure for the England women’s national cricket team. Born in Lambeth, London, she rose through the ranks at Finchley Cricket Club and Middlesex before making her international debut in late 2018 during the ICC Women's World Twenty20. She subsequently carved her name into cricket history in 2021 by becoming the first Black woman to play Test cricket for England, making her maiden appearance in the format against India at Bristol. Known for her powerful strokeplay, athletic presence in the field, and ability to dictate terms during the powerplay, she reached a major career milestone in 2022 by smashing her maiden ODI century against South Africa.

A seasoned competitor across all three formats, Dunkley has accumulated extensive international experience while featuring prominently in global fixtures and major ICC tournaments.
