Slow Left Arm Orthodox

Nimasha Meepage is a Sri Lankan left-arm orthodox spinner who has emerged as a bowling option for the national women’s side. Born on August 15, 1999, she is a right-handed batter but contributes primarily with her slow left-arm spin. Meepage developed through Sri Lanka’s domestic and A-team structure, representing sides including Sri Lanka A Women, SLC Greens Women and SLC Blue Women before earning an opportunity at senior international level.

Meepage made her T20I debut against India Women in Thiruvananthapuram in December 2025 and followed that by making her ODI debut against West Indies Women in February 2026. She became increasingly involved in Sri Lanka’s white-ball setup during 2026, featuring in the ODI series in Bangladesh and subsequently being part of Sri Lanka’s campaign at the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Her ability to bowl economical spells and provide a different angle through left-arm spin gives Sri Lanka another useful option for controlling the middle overs.

Still relatively early in her international career, Meepage has begun building experience against a variety of opponents and conditions. Her performances in Bangladesh were particularly encouraging, where she consistently contributed with wickets across the ODI series, before gaining valuable exposure on the global stage at the T20 World Cup. As she becomes more established at international level, her accuracy, ability to vary her pace and effectiveness as a left-arm orthodox spinner could make her an increasingly valuable part of Sri Lanka Women’s limited-overs bowling attack.
