Sune Luus

Suné Luus, born on January 5, 1996, in Pretoria, South Africa, is a highly regarded all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off-spin. She made her international debut as a teenager in 2012 and steadily established herself as a key player for South Africa in all formats. Luus is notable for her exceptional all-round abilities, including a record-breaking performance in 2016 where she became only the second woman in ODI history to score a half-century and take a five-wicket haul in the same match. That year, she also equaled the record for most wickets in a calendar year in women’s ODI cricket.

Suné has served as the captain of the South African women’s team, leading them in major tournaments including the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup and the Commonwealth Games. She made her Test debut in 2022 and continues to be an influential presence with bat and ball. Luus is known for her intelligent spin bowling, dependable middle-order batting, and calm leadership, making her one of South Africa's most valuable cricketers.
