Lorcan Tucker

Lorcan John Tucker, born on 10 September 1996, is an Irish cricketer and wicket-keeper batter who has been a key figure in Ireland’s national team since his international debut in 2016. He has represented Ireland across all formats, making his T20I debut in 2016, ODI debut in 2019, and Test debut in 2023. Tucker’s breakthrough came in late 2021 when he impressed with strong performances in T20Is, including a match-winning 84 against the USA, and he was Ireland’s top scorer in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, helping the team reach the Super 12 stage.

In April 2023, Tucker made a historic Test debut against Bangladesh, scoring a century and becoming the first Irish wicket-keeper to score a Test hundred on debut and only the second Irishman to achieve this feat. He also became the first wicket-keeper batter to score a century in the second innings on Test debut and the second wicket-keeper to score a Test century on away soil. In May 2024, Tucker captained Ireland in a T20I against Pakistan and was named in Ireland’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, highlighting his growing leadership role and importance to Irish cricket.
