Daryl Mitchell

Daryl Mitchell is a dependable New Zealand right-handed batter and useful medium-pace bowling option who has established himself as a key figure across all three international formats. Born in Hamilton, he made his T20I debut in 2019 before progressing into the Test and ODI sides, earning recognition for his composure and ability to handle pressure. Mitchell combines a compact technique with powerful stroke play, allowing him to build substantial innings without losing the ability to accelerate when required. His outstanding performances at the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he scored 552 runs, including two centuries against India, highlighted his ability to deliver on the biggest occasions. He has continued to impress in international cricket, with his consistency and adaptability making him one of New Zealand’s most trusted middle-order performers.

Mitchell brings stability to the batting lineup and is particularly effective when chasing challenging totals or rebuilding after early wickets. He reads the game well, rotates the strike efficiently and can shift gears with powerful shots once settled at the crease. Although his medium-pace bowling is used selectively, it provides New Zealand with an additional option when the team needs a change of approach. His experience in overseas conditions and franchise competitions has further strengthened his versatility against different bowling attacks. For fantasy cricket, Mitchell is a strong batting option because of his ability to produce substantial scores, while his occasional bowling and reliable fielding offer additional opportunities to earn points.
