Devon Conway

Devon Conway is an accomplished left-handed top-order batter and occasional wicketkeeper who has become one of New Zealand’s most dependable performers across international formats. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he moved to New Zealand in 2017 and made his international debut in 2020 after establishing himself in domestic cricket. Conway announced his arrival in Test cricket with a memorable double century on debut against England at Lord’s in 2021, showcasing his patience, sound technique and ability to build long innings. He also made a significant impact in the 2023 ODI World Cup, scoring an unbeaten 152 against England in the tournament opener. His combination of composure and well-timed stroke play makes him particularly effective when setting a foundation at the top of the order.

Conway’s ability to adapt his approach to different formats gives New Zealand valuable stability in their batting lineup. He can absorb pressure in challenging conditions, rotate the strike efficiently and capitalise on loose deliveries without taking unnecessary risks. His recent performances in Test cricket, including a double century and a hundred in the same match against the West Indies in December 2025, further highlighted his capacity to produce substantial scores. For fantasy cricket, Conway is a useful top-order selection because he has the technique to build a big innings while maintaining a steady scoring rate. His wicketkeeping contributions, when assigned the gloves, can provide additional opportunities to collect fantasy points.
