Zakary Foulkes

Zakary Foulkes is a New Zealand seam-bowling all-rounder who has emerged as one of the country’s promising young pace options. Born on 5 June 2002 in Christchurch, Foulkes is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler who developed through Canterbury’s domestic system. His ability to swing the ball, maintain disciplined lines and contribute useful lower-order runs helped him progress quickly from domestic cricket into the New Zealand setup.

Foulkes made his international breakthrough in 2024 and has since represented New Zealand across T20Is, ODIs and Test cricket. He has continued to strengthen his reputation with consistent performances, including an impressive start to his Test career and valuable contributions in limited-overs cricket. By the 2026 season, he had become part of New Zealand’s centrally contracted group and an increasingly important member of the wider pace-bowling unit.

Foulkes’ strengths lie in his accuracy, movement through the air and off the surface, and his ability to adapt his bowling to different formats. He also provides additional depth with the bat, making him a useful all-round option for team balance. His progress has made him one of New Zealand’s notable young seamers, although a right hip-flexor injury ruled him out of the T20I series against India in October 2026.
