Jack Edwards

Jack Edwards is a right-handed seam-bowling all-rounder who has earned a late call-up to Australia’s ODI squad for the three-match series against South Africa. The 26-year-old New South Wales cricketer joined the national squad after travelling from India, where he had been preparing with Australia A. Edwards has already made his international debut, featuring in a T20I against Pakistan earlier in 2026, but is yet to play an ODI for Australia. His addition to the squad follows Billy Stanlake’s side injury and also provides Australia with further all-round depth with Cameron Green managing a shoulder issue.

Edwards has developed a reputation as a useful two-way contributor, combining middle-order batting with right-arm pace. His breakthrough domestic season came in 2023-24, when he collected 22 Sheffield Shield wickets and 14 wickets in the Marsh Cup, while his List A batting has also produced important innings, including an unbeaten 89 against India A. He can provide Australia with additional flexibility by offering a few overs alongside his batting role, while his athleticism also makes him a useful presence in the field. With the South Africa ODIs giving him an opportunity to potentially make his 50-over debut, Edwards will be looking to translate his strong domestic record into international cricket. For fantasy cricket, his all-round profile makes him an interesting option if he is included in the playing XI, as he has multiple avenues to contribute through runs, wickets and fielding.
