David Rushmere

David Rushmere is a South African-born right-handed wicketkeeper-batter known for his composed approach at the crease and ability to build substantial innings. Born on 4 March 1999 in Port Elizabeth, Rushmere developed through South African domestic cricket and represented Boland at List A level, where he scored 61 runs from his first two appearances, including a half-century.

Rushmere has particularly impressed in Dutch domestic cricket, emerging as a prolific run-scorer for Hermes DVS in the Topklasse. He made an immediate impact in the 2026 season by scoring 169 on his Topklasse debut, setting a competition record for the highest individual score by a player on debut. He followed that performance with further centuries, including innings of 118 and 167, highlighting his concentration, temperament and ability to convert starts into imposing scores.

Primarily valued for his batting, Rushmere combines controlled strokeplay with the ability to increase the scoring rate once established, making him particularly dangerous in limited-overs cricket.
