Max O'Dowd
Max O'Dowd is an experienced right-handed opening batter who has been a long-standing fixture at the top of the Netherlands order. His T20 game is built around a combination of strong conventional strokeplay and the ability to attack once he has settled at the crease. O'Dowd is particularly valuable in the powerplay, where he can exploit fielding restrictions, while his experience also allows him to play the anchoring role when early wickets put the innings under pressure.
O'Dowd made his T20I debut for the Netherlands in 2015 and has since featured in several major ICC tournaments. One of the standout moments of his T20I career came against Malaysia in 2021 when he struck an unbeaten 133, becoming the first Netherlands batter to score a T20I century. He has remained one of the country's most prolific white-ball batters and has frequently been entrusted with providing a stable platform from which the Dutch middle order can attack.
Although primarily selected for his batting, O'Dowd can also contribute occasional off-spin when required. His greatest value in T20 cricket comes from his understanding of tempo and conditions, developed through years of international and franchise experience. Capable of batting deep or taking on the bowling from the outset, he offers a useful blend of reliability and boundary-scoring ability at the top of the order.
