Michael Bracewell

Michael Bracewell is a versatile New Zealand all-rounder who offers T20 sides a valuable combination of left-handed batting and right-arm off-spin. With the bat, he is capable of operating through the middle order and accelerating rapidly once set, using strong hitting down the ground along with sweeps and unconventional options against spin. His ability to remain composed in difficult chases has been a recurring feature of his white-ball career.

Bracewell made his T20I debut for New Zealand in 2022 after building a substantial domestic career and quickly developed into a useful two-way option. His off-spin can be employed to break partnerships or exploit favourable matchups, while his batting gives the lower middle order additional depth. He has also gained experience in franchise competitions around the world, broadening his exposure to different tactical roles and conditions.

The flexibility Bracewell provides is particularly valuable in T20 team construction. He can be used as a specialist matchup bowler, a middle-order stabiliser or a late-innings hitter depending on the situation, and his experience allows him to shift between those responsibilities without requiring a fixed role. That adaptability, combined with his ability to contribute in both innings, makes him the type of all-rounder who can improve the balance of a T20 side.
