Richard Gleeson

Richard Gleeson is an experienced right-arm fast bowler whose pace and hard lengths have made him a sought-after T20 specialist. A late developer at professional level, he built his reputation through English domestic cricket before earning an England debut in 2022. Gleeson attacks batters with genuine speed, can generate awkward bounce and is comfortable bowling the aggressive lengths required to take wickets rather than simply defend a total.

His international introduction immediately demonstrated his threat, as he took 3 for 15 on T20I debut against India, dismissing Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. He has since continued to build a broad T20 career across domestic and franchise competitions, accumulating well over 100 matches and a substantial wicket tally. His experience includes bowling in the powerplay and at the death, two phases where fast bowlers are routinely exposed to the most attacking batting.

Gleeson's career path also gives him an unusual level of resilience and adaptability. Because he reached the highest level later than most, he has spent years refining the skills required to survive in short-form cricket, including pace changes, yorkers and hard back-of-a-length bowling. Even as an experienced campaigner, his ability to hurry batters and produce wicket-taking spells makes him a valuable pace option for T20 teams seeking proven quality under pressure.
