Scott Edwards

Scott Edwards is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batter and one of the central figures in Netherlands cricket, combining sharp glovework with a highly adaptable batting game. Particularly effective in T20 cricket, Edwards is comfortable operating through the middle and latter stages of an innings, where his ability to manipulate the field, rotate strike and find boundaries makes him a valuable presence. Rather than relying solely on power, he uses sweeps, paddles and inventive placement to score in areas that can be difficult for bowlers to defend.

Edwards has been a regular in the Netherlands T20I side since making his debut against Ireland in 2018 and has accumulated considerable experience in major international tournaments. He played an important role in the Dutch side that famously defeated South Africa at the 2022 T20 World Cup, while his performances over subsequent campaigns have reinforced his reputation as a reliable middle-order option. His ability to adjust his tempo according to the match situation is particularly useful in T20 cricket, whether rebuilding after early wickets or providing acceleration during the closing overs.

Beyond his contributions with the bat and gloves, Edwards' importance to the Netherlands has grown through his role as captain. He brings a composed approach to leadership and has guided the team through multiple global tournaments, including the 2026 T20 World Cup. Behind the stumps, his quick hands and understanding of the game give the Netherlands another tactical advantage, while his experience batting under pressure makes him an important part of their T20 setup and one of the country's most dependable cricketers.
