Yuvraj Samra

Yuvraj Samra is a left-handed Canadian batter who has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in associate cricket. He plays with an attacking mindset suited to T20 cricket, combining clean ball-striking with the confidence to take on high-quality bowling. Still early in his international career, Samra has already shown that he can produce substantial innings rather than functioning only as a short-innings power hitter.

Samra announced himself on the global stage at the 2026 T20 World Cup with a superb 110 against New Zealand in Chennai. At 19, he became the youngest man to score a century at a World Cup across the ODI and T20 formats, while the innings was also the first T20 World Cup hundred by a batter representing an associate nation. The knock demonstrated both his range and composure, as he recovered from pressure and accelerated strongly against an experienced international attack.

As a developing top-order option, Samra gives his side a left-handed presence capable of changing the momentum of an innings. His willingness to attack pace and spin makes him particularly intriguing in the shortest format, while his age leaves significant room for further growth. The early signs suggest a batter with the temperament to build an innings and the power to turn that platform into a match-defining T20 contribution.
